My new ‘drink’ love is caramel macchiato. In the two coffee places that I go to, Starbucks and CBTL, this is the drink that I order.
I’ve been contemplating on what’s better. Both are are called by the same name, but in terms of the taste and presentation, there are noticeable differences.
The drink from Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf comes already blended with the caramel flavor, the milk and the coffee in it. It has a stronger coffee flavor. It is not too sweet as how people would think caramel macchiatos are to be.
For the Starbucks Caramel Macchiato, the presentation is quite unique. The bottom of the cup is drizzled with caramel syrup. Milk then is added then a shot of espresso. this creates three layers. The drink is not yet mixed so they leave it up to the customer to mix the drink. The drink is a bit sweeter than that of CBTL’s.
Both drinks are quite good, but I think I like Starbucks’ better.
